Yakima Scan Turns 1!

Today, Yakima Scan celebrates its 1 year anniversary for broadcasting online. I want to thank you all for making Yakima Scan part of your life and also for your patience as we work to make this site as flawless as possible.
Plans for the near future include adding a new scanner for the police channel that will allow us to broadcast Washington State Patrol digital traffic again, adding a large exterior antenna that will allow for a more clear broadcast, and possibly will allow us to include Lower Valley Fire in the broadcast, an emergency tone playback for recent fire dispatches and finally a fix for the white noise that is coming from the fire channel.
The above mentioned updates are not required for broadcasting, but there is a lot of radio traffic that is missed because we simply do not have the greatest most up to date equipment. 90% of the funds to create and run Yakima Scan have come from either myself or from Ralph. The remaining 10% have been from generous donations. In order to give you the best possible feed, we are still seeking donations. Currently, we have a little under $200 in donations, but are in need of more. I know I have put a lot of my personal money into this, and will continue to do so, but I cannot foot the whole bill. Asking for donations is not something we like to do, but it is necessary in order to give you all the best possible product. 100% of all donated funds will be used for equipment for Yakima Scan. Once that money is spent, I will scan copies of the receipts and can send them via email to all those who have donated to Yakima Scan. Anything will help. There is a donation link on Yakimascan.com.
Again, thank you all for listening to Yakima Scan and as we grow in our knowledge and experience, we hope to constantly provide you with a better quality feed and a more user friendly website. Please, spread the word and enjoy the broadcast!

On behalf of Yakimascan.com, thank you for listening!
